answer sheet – duo ukulele from Jogja

As I remember, I heard this song for the first time when i was listening to Geronimo FM via Jogjastreamers.com.  I never thought that it was local indie musician from Jogja! Known as Answer Sheet Acoustic or Ukulele duo from Yogyakarta, they really have unique taste of music.

The ukelele somehow sounded so “crunchy” in my ear, in a good way. The voice of the singer also is very good. I guess they are quite famous in their hometown and also at ukulele’s community.

In A Love Beach, Sadranan song, there’s a whistle sound which is so cute.

When i saw their performance below, I couldn’t believe they could produce such nice music by only using ukulele. Oh! I’m officially in love with them. I would like to watch their live performance.

lagu (yang tadinya) ga banget

Saya tahu musik itu adalah masalah selera. Enak di kuping saya belum tentu enak di kuping kamu atau dia. Jadi rasanya agak kejam kalau menghina abege abege labil yang doyan sama ST.12, the bagindaz, smash, dan band-band yang dianggap alay lainnya (loh ini bukannya juga menyepet ya? *plak!)

Jujur, saya tidak terlalu suka dengan band band beraliran melayu yang menyamenye dan melagukan tentang patah hati, kesepian, selingkuh dan semacamnya, in a cheezy way. Ini menurut saya loh.

Beberapa lagu yang tadinya menurut saya oh sungguh enggak banget, setelah di aransemen dan dibawakan ulang, *triiinng*, langsung membuat saya jatuh cinta.

oh siapa sih yang ga tahu smash? You know me so well deh. either you love them or hate them. boyband ini termasuk lumayan fenomenal di dunia permusikan tanah air. Beranggotakan 7 cowok yang katanya ganteng dan bersuara -yah you know lah- lumayan, Smash ternyata memiliki banyak penggemar di tanah air.

Saya kenal lagu ini saat berkaraoke ketika sedang pulang ke tanah air. Reaksi pertama saya adalah what the *niit* !!? Lagu macam apa ini? Namun, setelah menyaksikan afgan nan tampan membawakan lagu ini, well, tiba-tiba saja saya berubah pikiran. (Dasar perempuan lemah!)

3. Dibawa kemana by Kunto Adji (Original by Armada)

Pertama mendengar lagu ini ketika saya dijemput ayah bersama 2 krucil keponakan. And guess what? 2 keponakan saya ini hafal mati beberapa lagu Armada. Saya juga ga ngerti siapa yang beli CD Armada kemudian diplay di tape mobil. Duh, memang sih, sekarang tidak ada lagi sejenis Melissa dengan abang tukang baksonya, atau Shindy Cenora dengan Aku cinta rupiahnya. but seriously? itu keponakan saya umurnya baru 6 tahun. -__-”

nah, ketika tidak sengaja melihat video ini di Youtube, sumpah saya langsung terpana.

Ajep ajep guilty pleasure #1: Rocketeer – Far East Movement feat Ryan Tedder

One of my favorite ajep ajep song lately. Far East Movement has been known from their phenomenal song Like a G6. But Rocketeer is less ajep ajep than that.

Interesting facts about them is even though they come from US, but they are Asian.  Formed in 2003 and consists of Kev Nish (Kevin Nishimura), who is of Japanese and Chinese descent, Prohgress (James Roh), of Korean descent, J-Splif (Jae Choung), of Korean descent and DJ Virman (Virman Coquia), of Filipino descent.

One of the most selfish song i’ve ever heard. haha. I love the video, the tone is super warm and the cinematography is also very good. And it reminds me of Jogja a lot.

His voice got me since the first time i hear them playing at @geronimofm . Serak serak seksi macho gimana gitu. Geez!

My friend’s friend even said that, “Suara batuknya aja seksi, bu Yos”.  So true! Haha
